It’s that time of year where we get to feast our eyes on all the gorgeous photos coming in from our real brides. Planning a wedding we all know involves so much attention to detail so we just love seeing everything coming together flawlessly.
Our latest bridal news story features the beautiful couple Sandra and David O’Connor who tied the knot on September 24th 2016 in the ever romantic Tralee, Co. Kerry.
When Sandra first made contact with us at Couture de Fleur she just loved the idea of having a bouquet that could be kept forever but didn’t like the full brooch bouquet look. She saw Couture de Fleur in a wedding magazine and fell in love with our style as it captures the natural floral look but with the ability to keep it as an heirloom.
We collaborated for some time about the finer details such as color schemes, dresses and pretty much everything that it takes to get to know the true style of a bride! Our expert planning and design takes an element of trust from each bride to have faith that we will create something really perfect for them. Once we have everything we need we can whirl away into a floral frenzy and that is exactly what we do best!
Sandra knew from the beginning that she wanted a certain style of heirloom bouquet with a mix of blue, pink and white florals. The bridesmaid dresses she chose were of the most gorgeous shade of rich green so we knew immediately how we would delicately bring everything together to compliment the entire scheme. She also had a vintage brooch belonging to each her and David’s grandmothers which would make a very special and important feature in her custom design.
We restored and repaired both brooches and to give it a really antique feel we chose some additional ornate vintage features to place throughout her design. We work through each design in stages which is why it is such a specialized and unique process and it takes a lot of time to get it just right. We are extremely particular and fussy about the quality of our workmanship……after all these one of a kind bridal bouquets are heirlooms so our handcraft must stand the test of time.
Each piece becomes a labor of love, creativity and passion and once complete can be hard to set free! Which leads us to the exciting part…..the unveiling! Lovingly wrapped and packaged in it’s own Couture de Fleur wooden keepsake box it is carefully transported to it’s very own unique owner who will now have their very own one of a kind heirloom bouquet forever.
As a special part of our service for each bespoke order we also create an equally unique and complimentary boutonniere for the Groom. Once we have done our floral duties the rest is just a matter of anticipation and wonder until the special packages reach their final destination.
It makes everything we do so worthwhile when we get to see the happiness our designs bring to each beautiful bride and is one of the most important parts of our journey. When we asked Sandra how she felt when she received her flowers she said “It was amazing, beautiful and awe-worthy. You got it better than I ever expected and I’m so glad I found you to do it. It hardly left my hand all day and no one could believe it was not fresh flowers”.
Sandra wore a fabulous Pronovias Wedding Dress from De Staffords Bridal in Nenagh. She borrowed her veil, headpiece and bracelet from her sister.
We think you both looked absolutely radiant and stunning. Thank you for being part of our love story and choosing us to be a part of yours. As we always say “What’s Seldom Seen is Wonderful”
Wishing you so many years of love and happiness together – Couture de Fleur
